Colossians 3:1-11
Right now, oh believer, you are in the daily, moment-by-moment process of being saved by your God from the prevailing power of sin. In love and holiness, the work and authority of Christ seated above in the heavenlies, and the immediate/indwelling working of the Holy Spirit within are striving according to the desire of the Father for you to achieve power over and freedom from the earthly desires, impulses and desires of your flesh

“I have been saved!
I am being saved!
I shall yet be saved!”

The triune living God does this because He desires our ultimate happiness and good. He knows that the corrosive and gnawing effects of yielding to the normal, earthly pattern of living, and the normal and habitual impulses of our flesh stymie, frustrate and delay the onset and presence of real joy. Why? They pull back and turn away from genuine fellowship with living, holy, happy God Who is!
May the God who loves us dearly, grant us a heart that is soft and pliable to Him. Oh Lord, make us truly convincible to the truth and allergic to the corrosive call of the flesh, and who we were before Christ Jesus saved us.
